You purchase the car through in-house financing versus through a third party, such as a bank, credit union or finance company. The dealership acts as the “bank” and approves your loan based on their requirements.
Although some LHPH dealerships will accept payment by phone or online, many require that you physically bring a check or cash to their location. You therefore lease the car from the dealership and “pay” on the lease at the dealership.
Depending on the dealerships you visit, very little. The key difference between a traditional dealership and one that specializes strictly in LHPH terms lies in the shopping experience. At a traditional dealership, the financial conversation is often the last part of your discussion. After you’ve seen a few models, asked a host of car questions and possibly test driven one, the dealer will help you explore payment options.
At a LHPH dealership, the process is usually reversed. The dealer will ask you a series of questions, possibly run a credit report and invest in understanding your credit experience before showing you available cars. Then, with your monthly payment range and down payment information factored in, the dealer will show you cars that fit your financial situation.
1. Available Cars, Available loans
The most important benefit of LHPH financing is that it gives credit-challenged people the opportunity to get much-needed transportation.
In many cases, LHPH dealerships are the only option when someone has been turned down by traditional loan institutions, has had a recent bankruptcy, divorce, foreclosure or other credit issue.
2. Improve Your Credit Score
One of the ways to rebuild a credit history is to make timely payments on an installment loan or lease. Many dealers will report to the credit reporting agencies. If you consistently make payments on a LHPH vehicle transaction, over time, your credit score may improve and you will be able to look at trade-in and refinance options.
3. Trade-in Opportunity
Leasing in New York provides easy trade-in options for clientele. Early lease termination after one-half of the lease payments are made can be done for a small termination fee, and providing clientele the opportunity to lease a new vehicle that better suits their driving needs.
